Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would be 93 years old today, and was unfortunately taken from this world almost 54 years ago. By the time I was born, he had already been gone for over a decade. For many people like myself, our connection to him can be found mostly from his recorded speeches, writings, and photographs. Art that has been inspired by him can be found all over the world, and throughout my life, this artwork has shaped my vision of his greatness and impact on humanity.

To honor his legacy today, I decided to search for a variety of displays and exhibits, both nationally and locally, that feature MLK-inspired art. This list includes both physical art as well as literary and performance art, produced by some very talented people who are helping us stay connected to our wonderful leader who can never be forgotten. I take pride in speaking with my young daughter about his legacy, as it is our responsibility to pass down stories of his greatness to each generation to come.
